Hey peeps. Remember this? This evil creation that is a cross between a cookie and a cake so buttery you’d be wanting to gnaw on carrot sticks for the rest of the evening? Well, as luck would have it, turns out that I have carrots in my fridge that could be put to good use. Oh and butter too. Lots of it.
A fruity week this week. And a rogue one as well. Yes, what you see up there is not the expected apple rice pudding. I’m not a big fan of rice pudding and although I am willing to give it a try, I just didn’t feel like making it this week. Reading through the recipe list, it seemed just a tad bit too complicated for my very hectic week. But I did have another apple dessert in mind.
I hated clafoutis. And for a good reason. The first time I had a clafoutis was during a picnic on Île St-Louis. The scene was always picture perfect, the weather gorgeous, the cheeses marvelous and the wine free-flowing. But somehow, we always failed on the dessert department. No one really cared much for dessert but someone would always manage to bring a supermarket pie/cake. Horrid. Of course.
